What do different Dip Liquids mean for you?
Share
We recently announced bringing in additional Dip Liquids with different formulas. So that you have all the information on how these may differ and affect your manicures, I will share with you some highlights.
Our Original Formula Dip Liquids
The liquids for this 5 Step dip process come in our White Glass bottles with the painted colored labeling. We have sold these dip liquids since 2020. They remain our best selling product. The dip base and top are resin based and contain Cyanoacrylate and Ethyl 2-Polymethyl Methacrylate, two ingredients formulated for quick dry time and durability. Activator is needed for the Top to dry and with that are specific timing instructions for quick dry and perfect shine.
Our New Formula Dip Liquids
The liquids for this 5 Step dip process come in Clear Glass Bottles with a label. We began selling these in 2025. The dip base and top are resin based and while they do not contain PMMA, they do contain Cyanoacrylate, an ingredient that is formulated for quick dry time, and also an ingredient in Super Glue. Activator is not used to dry the Top. This is different than both our Original and New Formula dip liquids.
Our Low Odor Dip Base and Dip Top
These come in a White plastic bottle and contain A-Cyanoacrylate, an ingredient that is formulated for quick dry time and is also an ingredient in Super Glue. We began selling these in 2025. The Dip Top does require activator to dry, much like our Original Formula does, but the instructions for application differ.
While there is always an allergy risk for any substance that is used for nail products, you can have a reaction to one of the ingredients or to all of the ingredients. Additionally, those sensitive to super glue (which is almost always made with Cyanoacrylate) will be sensitive to any of these dip liquids, since all of these contain this ingredient. "Dip Flu" is a symptom some will get when inhaling the fumes from certain liquids containing irritants containing any acrylates. To avoid the symptoms of feeling like you have the "flu" after dipping, you should always dip in a well ventilated area with a fan blowing away from your face and while using a respirator mask.
Nobody can dictate whether you will experience discomfort by using their liquids. There is always a risk. Listen to your body. Just because you know someone who doesn't get sick doesn't mean you won't. It is different with everybody. I am giving this information to you so that you can do your research and know how these chemicals can affect you.
If affected by a skin allergy when using any nail products, please refrain from using them until you can be seen by a dermatologist to do an allergy panel.
